I have drawn and sketched all my life and at times painted in a variety of media.During my working life I have been a Nurse, Social Worker and worked in both the statutory and Voluntary Organisations. Since retiring I have completed the Foundation Art Course at Queens Road and had Studio space at the Bristol Diving School and now at Hamilton House.I paint in a variety of media and also print and use photos. These recent paintings reflect three years looking at the techniques used by Paul Klee following his retrospective exhibition at Tate Modern in January 2014.I explored his transfer techniques a type of monoprint using oil and watercolours and mounting the work on cardboard. Over two years this use of techniques has been gradually evolving and leading to semi abstract works. This year I am beginning to explore other avenues using Klees’ techniques and have been attending dog drawing sessions and exploring rooms as well as life drawing themes.
