Katie Wallis


Katie’s work is primarily concerned with geometry, colour and transformation through pattern. Much of her imagery is currently inspired by bees, bats and other pollenators.
She is interested in designing patterns to fit particular forms, usually for interior products.
She designs and works with both digital and screen print marrying it with machine and hand sewn techniques and laser cutting . She makes all her own products from start to finish, which include lampshades , quilts, cushions , mirrors and small textile based gifts and scarves. She now also collaborates with an upholsterer to create one off pieces of furniture which incorporate her designs and fabrics.
She completed an MA in Multidisciplinary Printmaking at UWE in 2012.

In 2015 she took part in the Crafts Council’s prestigious business and mentoring programe for new and emerging makers- Hothouse 5.

She is a current member of Fig the gallery /shop 206, Gloucester Rd and sells her products at a number of other craft gallery/shops nationally .

She was also one of Shaun the Sheep artists in last years Shaun in the City trail, creating Shaun on the Cob.
As well as textiles, Katie has 10 years experience painting murals and specialist paint finishes for interiors. She has worked alongside interior designers to complete commissions nationally and internationally. So she is able to provide bespoke design, print and painting services for interiors should you want to commision her.
